TV

What have we been up to lately? We had a wedding in the city on Saturday. Sunday we relaxed and did a little shopping. Nothing too major. We watched an episode of Grey's. I am not entirely sure where we are, but I think that we are about mid-way through the third season at this point.
We have been watching Scrubs the past few weeks since its return from the writer's strike. For some reason it just doesn't do it for me like it use to do. I can't believe that Dr. Kelso quit. What is Dr. Cox going to do?
We watched the new episode of Ugly Betty this week as well. Poor Betty and Henry just can't get a break with Charlie around.
At some point this week I need to clean my car. I also really need to deep clean our house and go through things to see what I want to donate to a shelter. I made a list and it will take me until around June 27. Hopefully it will not take as long as I have planned.

Baseball and A Barber

Gabe came home on Wednesday evening. After I finished working, we left immediately to get a few things accomplished. We grabbed some food first thing due to traffic. We could add 30 minutes onto our trip because of traffic, or we could actually eat and wait the 30 minutes until traffic cleared up. Food won, and I must say I was happy. By the time I finish work I am usually starving. We had to go to Midway and drop off a rental car. Then we had to make it to a store by 9:00 p.m. to pick up a purchase that Gabe had made. We made it to the store at 8:40, but hey, we made it.
Yesterday was pretty busy too. We left to watch my nephew's baseball game. It took around 2.5 hours to get to the game. A guy decided to drive in the middle of the two lanes. This might not have been so bad, but there was absolutely no way to pass him (he was going less than 40 mph...in a 65 mph zone). This added about 30 minutes to the trip. We made it to the game on time. The wind started blowing and then there were sprinkles. We stayed for a couple of innings and then we left to come back to Chicago to see Sweeney Todd. It turns out that after we left the rain started pouring and they had a rain delay that lasted for quite a while. We BARELY made it to Sweeney Todd. Once we entered the theater they told us to run to the door that separates the lobby from the theater (they were closing the door and once closed we wouldn't be allowed in for at least 30 minutes). So, you guess it, we ran. Because we were running the guy held the door for us and we made it to our seats just in time. Lucky us! I haven't seen the movie, but the musical was different than I expected. It was much less dark and it actually had me laughing quite a few times. Overall, I liked it. The show let out around 10:30 p.m. and we headed to Greek Town for some food. We didn't get a chance to eat before the show, so we were both really hungry. It was close to midnight by the time we made it back home. I was really tired and went to bed. At least I have today to do all of the things that I normally do on Thursday.

Business Trip

I am hanging out at home alone. Gabe is away on another business trip. At least he is coming back tomorrow. I am watching the most recent episode of Desperate Housewives. Next, I am going to watch Samantha Who? I will wait to watch Dancing with the Stars and American Idol until Gabe returns. We like to watch those shows together.
Gabe and I watched Chocolat the other night. The story revolves around a lady and her daughter. They move into a small town and mix things up a bit much to the dismay of the mayor. It wasn't bad.

Shower Door

Gabe made it back from Arizona late Wednesday night (around midnight). His flight was less eventful than mine. I guess he sat next to a normal lady.
The correct shower door was finally installed in our bathroom on Friday. It was originally scheduled for Thursday, but the company rescheduled the installation due to employee training. The change in schedule actually sucked because I had Thursday off, but I worked on Friday. If you are interested in having your bathroom redone let me know and I will tell you the company that we used...I would actually avoid them. This has been going on for about 5 months!
Thursday we are going downtown to see Sweeney Todd. I am pretty excited. We have both held off on watching the movie until after we see the show on Thursday. Gabe actually purchased the tickets while we were in Spain. That's about it for our lives...other than work.

Weather

I am back and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by the weather. It isn't as nice as the 94 degree high in Tucson, but it is better than snow. I am going to complain that the weather always seems crappy on my days off. I have Thursday off this week and right now the forecast is showing rain and thunderstorms...yippee! Complaining over. Surely we will have warm and sunny days soon.
Yesterday I finished Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella. It is about a girl, Lexi, that was in an accident and has amnesia. She is missing a three year block of her life and a LOT has happened in those three years. If you are out of your favorite author, it is worth a read.
I sat next to a creepy person on the flight back last night...and that is all I am going to say about that!

Cacti

We headed out today and we went to Saguaro National Park East. It was pretty interesting to see all of the various cacti. The Saguaro cactus is what is typically used to represent a cactus in most southwestern things that I have seen. When you get up close to one, you notice their massive size. They grow up to 50 feet tall and can weight up to 2 tons! Their life cycle is around 200 years but it can take up to 75 years before they grow their first "arm". We hiked a little to get closer looks at the wildlife. Before arriving at the Park we wandered through a farmer's market.
We also went to Wal-Mart. What trip is complete without a Wally World adventure? We actually went because we needed sunscreen. The weather today has been great. It was in the 80's. Right now it is 67. Tomorrow the high is 91...I think I get to go back to snow. Now I know why people stay here during the winter. It was actually pretty funny when we were driving through the downtown area. People drive golf carts in the road instead of cars. I guess it saves on gas...especially if you can plug it in to charge the battery. We went out to dinner tonight with a couple that Gabe knows from work. It was a lot fun. Later on in the evening Gabe and I donated $20 to an Indian reservation via slot machines. Now we are back in the hotel watching T.V. I am not sure what we are going to do tomorrow.

I will try to post some pics a little later.

Arizona

We arrived in Arizona last night. Yippee...our flight was not canceled. Upon arrival we grabbed some food. We saw a few cacti that were huge. We are getting ready to leave the hotel to explore the area. Not much else to report.

Tulips

Not much has happened since my last post other than a lot of rain. Some of the tulips that I planted in September were eaten by the squirrels. The little guys would dig them up and run off with them. The good news is that they didn't eat all of my tulips, just most of them. They have started poking out of the ground recently.
Gabe and I might be leaving to go to Arizona tonight. He has a business trip and I might be tagging along for part of it. I say might because the flight was canceled last night and we aren't sure if it will be canceled tonight or not. The weather there is in the 80's and lower 90's. Hopefully the snow will be finished by the time I return.

Battery Trouble

There was some excitement in our life our Tuesday. I drove my car home for lunch and when I went back to start it, it was dead. I called Gabe, explained to him it wasn't an April Fool's prank, and then the office manager had to come to my house and pick me up. Thank you! We were supposed to go to the grocery store for some much needed food, but instead Gabe had to spend the night figuring out what was wrong with my car. It ended up the battery was bad, so he replaced it with a new one. So far, my car has been running great. Because of all of this, we didn't get a chance to watch Dancing with the Stars (we record it). I am a little ticked at yahoo at this point. When I opened up the browser yesterday morning it told me who was kicked off of the show the previous night. Usually it says something like "click here if you want to know who was eliminated." Well, not yesterday, it just listed the eliminated couple. So, I haven't even watched it yet and I know who gets kicked off. Hopefully it won't make watching/critiquing of the dances any less fun. Gabe and I finally made it to the grocery store yesterday! Yeah for food. Then Aaron came over and we all watched American Idol. I just checked yahoo, and they list the person that was eliminated from American Idol last night. What is wrong with these people? They should at least have a link that you click. I am going to start using MSN. At least they have a link on "who go the boot?", so you don't find out unless you want to know. So here is a spoiler, if you haven't had a chance to watch American Idol yet, stop reading. Seriously, if you don't want to know who was eliminated, you should stop right here. Ramiele. She was never one of my favorites (at least I don't think that she was). I think I was most impressed with her auditions. However, I am still waiting on Kristy Lee Cook to get the boot. Oh, and I don't think that Brooke deserved to be in the bottom three. Well, that is about it for now. I need to do some laundry and get ready for a lunch date. I am meeting Beth, a friend from ICO, and her daughter.
